Before and After Hijama Care Advice To Make Your Experience Pleasant With Maximum Benefit

Before

Fast for at least 3 hours (no food or water) before your scheduled appointment. You must complete and sign a short Consent Form (signed before making the appointment on our Request Appointment page) before your hijama. Please consult your primary care physician if you have any medical conditions before hijama. It is recommended to take a shower and be in a state of wudu (ablution). Clients should wear comfortable clothes. Hijama is usually performed on the back.

After

The round marks usually disappear within 24 to 48 hours depending on the healing process. Scabs will appear around the hijama area and will cause some itching. It is recommended to apply vitamin E oil, olive oil, coconut oil, or black seed oil to help with the healing process. Do not scratch or itch the area where the hijama was performed. Hijama can make clients feel very relaxed and sleepy. It is important to stay active for at least 2 hours after Hijama Avoid any physical relationships and/or exercise for at least 24 hours after Hijama Avoid consuming milk, cheese, or other dairy products after Hijama (to help with detoxification). Clients should drink plenty of fluids, eat raw fruits and vegetables, and avoid processed and packaged foods Don't forget to schedule your next Hijama appointment in 3 months!
